Allen County Right to Life is holding an Oratory Contest on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00pm at the ACRL Office – 2126 Inwood Drive Fort Wayne, IN. The winner will represent Allen County at the statewide Pro-life Oratory Contest in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 6th where they will compete against other contestants from around the state. If for some reason the winner is unable to compete in the statewide contest, the ACRL runner up will represent our county. The 1st place orator at the state contest will represent Indiana at the national oratory contest.
1st place – $100.00 cash and entry into the Indiana state oratory contest
2nd place – $50.00 cash
All participants – Admission to the 2017 Life Defenders Boot Camp, July 7 &8th
Current juniors and seniors are eligible to participate in this year’s contest. Contestants are to research, write, and present an original pro-life speech on abortion, infanticide, stem cell research, or euthanasia. The speech is to be 5–7 minutes in length. Dramatic presentations are not acceptable. Contestants may use notes although memorization is encouraged. Judging will be based on: introduction, content, presentation, and conclusion. The Allen County Contest will follow the rules of the Indiana Right to Life Contest (included in rules and registration below).
