Marlene Romie maintained a constant weekly presence of peaceful prayer at the Webster Street abortion clinic in Fort Wayne for many years, faithful in all weather and seasons. As her health allowed, she also prayed with others at the Inwood Drive abortion clinic. Marlene made several trips to protest abortion clinics outside of Fort Wayne with members of Operation Rescue. Her trips to Washington D.C. for the national March For Life were highlights of her pro-life efforts. Defending the unborn was a mission she embraced wholeheartedly with the support of her faithful pro-life friends. She considers her advocacy for the children in the womb one of her highest callings in this life.
Marlene and her late husband Norbert have been blessed with six children. To Marlene, her children and grandchildren are her greatest treasures in this life.
Marlene’s youngest son, Joe, is a helpful volunteer at Allen County Right to Life events, often exercising his God-given talents as a freelance photographer. Joe is willing to lend a hand with whatever tasks need to be done to make our many pro-life events a success. His dedication to the protection of the unborn is unequaled.
Marlene and Joe are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in south central Fort Wayne, which is headed by a steadfast pro-life hero of theirs: Father George Gabet.
