Indiana Court of Appeals Upholds Pro-Life Law

Right to Life of Northeast Indiana applauds today’s decision by the Indiana Court of Appeals, which firmly upholds the constitutionality of Indiana’s pro-life laws. This ruling reinforces the legal foundation of the state’s carefully crafted abortion regulations and marks a clear affirmation that these laws are in full alignment with the Indiana Constitution.

The decision confirms that Indiana’s pro-life statute remains legally sound and enforceable. In addition, the court maintained that any permitted abortion must be performed in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center, not in abortion clinics, ensuring heightened safety standards for women and greater accountability.

“The court continues to affirm the hard fought, restrictive legislation passed by the Indiana Legislature following the overturning of Roe vs. Wade,” said Nick Boratenski, Executive Director of Right to Life of Northeast Indiana. “This legislation, once in effect, eliminated nearly 98% of the abortions done in the state of Indiana.  We continue to celebrate the lives that have been saved since that legislation has gone into effect.  We are thankful for the defense by Attorney General Todd Rokita and his team on this important issue and look forward to many more victories in the continued fight for life from conception to natural death.”

Right to Life of Northeast Indiana commends this decision as a vital step forward in ensuring that Indiana remains a state where life is valued, and women are supported with the dignity and care they deserve.
