Abortion
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes abortion.
We recognize that unexpected pregnancies can present significant personal, financial, and medical challenges. However, abortion intentionally ends the life of an innocent human being. Every human life possesses inherent dignity and value from the moment of conception, regardless of age, size, development, or circumstance. We affirm that both mother and child deserve protection, support, and compassionate care.
Embryonic Research that Requires the Destruction of Human Embryos
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes embryonic stem cell research and other forms of research that require the destruction of human embryos.
We recognize the importance of pursuing treatments and cures for disease. However, medical progress should never come at the cost of intentionally ending innocent human life. Ethical alternatives, including adult stem cell and umbilical cord blood research, demonstrate that scientific advancement and respect for human dignity can coexist.
End of Life Issues
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes the practices of euthanasia, suicide, and medical aid in dying.
Every human being has value, regardless of age, ability, health, intelligence, or other factors. Presumed quality of life for an individual is not grounds to end his life nor deny him treatments that would extend his life, if desired. RLNI strives to support people who are suffering, and alleviate that suffering, while maintaining and promoting the dignity of the individual throughout his life.
Eugenics
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes the practice of eugenics.
We recognize the desire to prevent suffering and improve quality of life, however, eugenics leads to the devaluation and destruction of human life, targets the most vulnerable, and assigns worth based on arbitrary traits rather than inherent dignity.
Human Embryo Cloning
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes human embryo cloning.
We recognize the desire to advance scientific knowledge and develop new medical treatments. However, cloning treats human life as a product to be manufactured, manipulated, and potentially discarded. Every human being is unique and possesses inherent dignity that should never be reduced to an experiment or commodity.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes the practice of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
We grieve with families who suffer from infertility and rejoice at the birth of all children, regardless of how they were conceived. However, IVF leads to the destruction of human life, engages in eugenics, and results in the commodification of children. In upholding its mission to promote and defend innocent human life, RLNI opposes IVF and promotes life-affirming options.
Pharmacists' Right to Refuse Dispensing Abortifacients
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) supports the right of pharmacists to refuse abortifacient drugs.
Individuals should not be compelled to participate in actions that contribute to the ending of human life.
Surrogacy
Right to Life of Northeast Indiana (RLNI) opposes the practice of surrogacy.
We recognize the natural desire of many adults to have children. Unlike adoption however, surrogacy treats children as subjects of contract and purposefully separates them from the woman who carried them before birth. Human beings should never be bought, sold, rented, or treated as commodities.
