Remembering Our Unborn Brothers and Sisters

So what about honoring the lives of the littlest among us lost to abortion? 

We don’t know the names of these precious babies. We don’t know the number of boys and girls. We don’t know exactly how many babies are lost to abortion every year. Yet we do know this, each child was a unique human life worthy of remembrance.

The National Day of Remembrance offers an opportunity to do this.

By participating in the National Day of Remembrance, you are helping to humanize our aborted brothers and sisters and strengthening your commitment to building a culture that protects every human life. The National Day of Remembrance also offers hope and healing to women who have had abortions and others who have been hurt by abortion. 

There are hundreds of memorial services that take place across the country memorializing those lost to abortion on this day. 

Visiting the memorial site of unborn children transforms abortion from an abstract concept into a deeply personal reality. Gathering in prayer and remembrance honors the memory of these children and deepens our shared commitment to extending protection to every unborn life. Your participation offers a powerful public witness to the sanctity of life while providing a compassionate space for hope, healing, and peace for women, fathers, and families who carry the grief of abortion loss.

While abortion statistics can often feel distant and impersonal, these numbers represent real children whose lives deserve to be remembered. Last year, 126 babies were reported as being aborted in Indiana for legal reasons, such as fetal anomaly or rape/incest. We don’t know the number of babies lost to abortion through chemical abortions obtained through the mail, or Indiana women who travelled out of state for abortion. According to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s research arm, an estimated 4,300 women received abortions via telehealth in Indiana in 2025. 

Although we know only a fraction of the children lost to abortion in Indiana, we believe each life deserves to be acknowledged. That is why we give names to the 126 children whose abortions were reported under Indiana's current law. A name gives a personal identity and uniqueness to a person. A name humanizes. 

These children may never have had the opportunity to be known by the world, but they are not forgotten.
